Privacy Policy

This policy explains how ChairBook Technologies Pvt. Ltd. handles personal data in ChairBook. It is written to meet India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP). It is not legal advice.
1. Data we collect
- Salon owner account data: name, email, phone, salon details, and login credentials.
- Your customers’ data (that you enter): name, phone, birthday, visit and booking history, and any notes you add.
- Messaging data: WhatsApp message logs sent and received through the service.
- Payments: subscription and credit purchases are processed by Razorpay; we do not store full card details.
- Technical data: push-notification tokens and basic device/usage information for reliability and security.
2. How we use it
- To provide bookings, CRM, insights, invoicing, and WhatsApp messaging.
- To process payments and manage subscriptions and credits.
- To secure the service, prevent abuse, and provide support.
- To meet legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.
3. Processors we rely on
We share data with sub-processors only as needed to run the service: Supabase (database & auth), Vercel (hosting), Upstash (rate limiting), Razorpay (payments), Meta (WhatsApp delivery), and Sentry (error monitoring). We do not sell personal data.
4. Retention
We keep data for as long as your account is active and as required for legal and tax purposes. On account closure we delete or anonymise data within a reasonable period, except where retention is legally required (e.g. tax invoices).
5. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you may request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, and you may withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. If you are a salon’s customer, please contact that salon (the data fiduciary for your booking data); we will assist them.

We aim to acknowledge grievances within a reasonable time and resolve them promptly.
7. Security & breaches
We use industry-standard measures to protect data. In the event of a personal-data breach we will act to contain it and notify the Data Protection Board and affected users as required by law.
8. Children
The service is for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly create accounts for minors.
